Watering, by the numbers
Most plants die from too much water, not too little. A single number on each plant page tells you where it sits.

Check the soil, not the calendar
Push a finger about three centimetres into the soil. If it is dry, water; if it is damp, wait. Water until it runs out of the drainage hole, then empty the saucer.

The three levels
Level one lets the soil dry out fully. Level two likes it dry on top. Level three prefers soil that stays evenly moist.
